We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to support the Indian Arts and Crafts Board (IACB) / Museum of the Plains Indian (MPI) on the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, MT.

    So, what will the Facilities Maintenance Worker at Terrestris do?

    As the Facilities Maintenance Worker, you will support a variety of tasks. Responsibilities include collaborating with facility employees on lawn care, sprinkler system repairs, janitorial services, and tasks related to plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, and carpentry. Additionally, you will answer phones and provide customer service, as required.

    What does a typical day look like for the Facilities Maintenance Worker?

    You will:

    • Assist with the mowing of the museum lawn, minor trimming of bushes and trees, edging of sidewalks and curbs, and other landscaping duties as assigned.
    • Clean museum restrooms, clean glass and plexiglass exhibit cases, sweep and mops museum galleries, take out trash from museum building, picking up trash from museum lawn, and other janitorial duties as assigned.
    • Collect garbage and refuse from museum grounds and parking lot and dispose of trash in appropriate receptacles.
    • Assist with basic routine electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work.
    • Assist with basic carpentry and painting tasks.
    • Assist with the removal of snow during the winter months.
    • Assist with special maintenance projects as assigned like fence repair, concrete repair, drywall/plaster repairs, and moving equipment and exhibit cases.
    • Assist with monitoring grounds, covering the front desk to include answering phones and greeting visitors.
    • Report any issues or concerns identified to the on-site museum staff and take any appropriate direction concerning these issues as directed by the staff.

    What qualifications do you look for?

    You might be the maintenance professional we're looking for if you have:

    • Demonstrated experience in Facilities Maintenance or Management including:
      • Basic plumbing work.
      • Routine electrical work.
      • Basic HVAC maintenance.
      • Basic drywall repair and painting.
    • Basic landscaping experience and the ability to operate landscaping equipment (lawnmowers, edgers, pruning sheers, etc.).
    • Customer service experience.
    • The ability to pass a background check.
