Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Facility Management (DFM) in overseeing daily department operations.
- Develop and maintain departmental budgets, and ensure operations are cost-effective and energy-efficient.
- Provide training, team-building, and conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Oversee staff workload, scheduling, and work order management using facilities CMMS.
- Establish and enforce safety and compliance standards, in alignment with OSHA and other regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships, including RFP creation, bid reviews, and contract evaluations.
- Implement a structured plan for team development, talent identification, and succession planning.
- Manage compliance for Environment of Care, Life Safety Code, and Emergency Management in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain documentation using Engineering platforms and ensure compliance across all regulatory bodies.
- Oversee life safety systems maintenance, emergency preparedness drills, and safety plan updates.
- Participate in the Environment of Care Committee and implement ILSM and ICRA for risk mitigation.
- Assist the DFM in planning and executing construction and renovation projects with minimal impact on facility operations.
- Act as a liaison between hospital maintenance, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and compliance, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure all equipment meets Engineering MEP guidelines and is installed per manufacturer recommendations.
- Support physical safety and security management for the hospital campus and all occupants.
Responsibilities:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
- Experience:
- 4-6 years of acute care facility experience in hospital maintenance, including major utility systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gases.
- 5 years of facility management experience as a manager/supervisor or lead technician, with a total of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Certifications: CHFM, CHC, CHE certifications are a plus.
