    Job Description

    As a member of the ASC Profiles LLC's Operations team, working directly with Maintenance and Engineering Teams, directs the design and installation of new or replacement equipment, develops standards for reliability and guidelines for engineering and maintenance activities on equipment, ensures engineering drawings and technical information are kept current.

    In addition, the Facilities Engineer is also responsible for the daily maintenance activities on equipment and systems to ensure coverage and completion; they will work with the Quality and Marketing & Engineering Teams to support the manufacturing of quality ASC Profiles LLC's products. The Facilities Engineer may also be tasked with supporting other maintenance activities during breakdowns, line shuts, annual shuts, or when the need arises.

    This position will support the ASC Profiles LLC's operations spanning across 6 locations for AEP Span, ASC Steel Deck and ASC Building Products. The role requires travel for 50% of the time including overnight travel. There is potential for a flexible working arrangement as driven by business needs.

    Primary duties and responsibilities:-

    • Directs the design and installation of new or replacement equipment.
    • Identify and implement process equipment improvements utilizing reliability-based maintenance philosophy and systems.
    • Lead the design and development of mechanical projects and initiatives within the plant.
    • Work with planners/scheduler to develop detailed shutdown work plans. Establishing repair priorities through communications with the operating departments, line maintenance associates and planners. Keeping Planners informed as to status of equipment repair. Documentation of activities and status in the work orders.
    • Ensures engineering drawings, maintenance procedures and technical information are kept up to date.
    • Provide direction to maintenance associates, operations, and contract labor.
    • Optimize spares stock levels, develop efficient supply contracts, and minimize stock holding costs.
    • Serves as lead on major company equipment and tooling vendor sign-offs.
    • Carries out root cause analysis on equipment failures and quality issues and takes appropriate measures to prevent failures from reoccurring. Assist other maintenance activities across BlueScope as required.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or 7 years’ equivalent experience in a mechanical engineering role in manufacturing environment
    • 5 years’ experience in Facilities Mechanical Engineering role combined with at least 2 years industrial maintenance engineer experience.
    • 2 years project management experience in facilities and equipment projects
    • Professional Engineer License/Registration for WA state

    Preferred:

    • 5 years industrial maintenance engineer experience
    • Heavy Manufacturing experience in the implementation of automation projects with successful cost and performance outcomes.
    • Project management experience

    Skills & competencies:

    Technical Ability :

    • Ability to analyze and solve problems through application of principals of mechanics, electricity, and fluid dynamics to machines and equipment.
    • Ability to effectively manage projects from conception to completion. Include budgeting, design, manpower allocation, timeline development, documentation and technical instruction.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
    • Ability to operate and understand a variety of computer applications and systems such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and SAP.
    • Ability to understand the operation of moderately complex tools, machines and systems

    • Ability to travel at limited notice, and for extended periods with notice.

    Pay Range: $97,156 - $145,734 annually.
