About the Company:
Our client is a well-established general contractor based in Indianapolis, specializing in a diverse range of commercial construction projects, including churches, grocery stores, apartment complexes, and more. With a reputation for quality craftsmanship and long-term partnerships, they are now expanding their service offerings and seeking a skilled Facilities Services Manager to join their team.
Position Overview:
The Facilities Services Manager will be instrumental in building and leading a new division within the company. Starting in a hands-on capacity, this individual will help establish workflows, service standards, and the foundation of a high-performing facilities maintenance team. As the department grows, this role will evolve into a more strategic leadership position, focused on team management, operational efficiency, and client service delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated facilities or maintenance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career — someone who wants to help build something from the ground up and grow with a company long-term.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on maintenance support for commercial facilities during the initial phase of the department’s development.
Build out the facilities services division, including hiring and managing maintenance technicians as the team grows.
Develop and implement systems, schedules, and processes for ongoing preventative and corrective maintenance.
Serve as the point of contact for clients, ensuring a high level of service and responsiveness.
Oversee budgeting, vendor management, and scheduling of maintenance projects.
Collaborate with company leadership to align the department’s growth with overall business objectives.
Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in commercial facilities maintenance or building operations (construction industry experience is a plus).
Comfortable working in a hands-on role initially, with a desire to grow into leadership.
Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
Ability to lead, develop, and manage a team.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Long-term mindset — looking for a career, not just a job.
