Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and to create an atmosphere that promotes high quality, caring, customer focused, cost-effective healthcare to the community. The Facility Admin provides clear direction and expectations to the clinical and office staff regarding the functional areas in which they work. The Facility Admin ensures all aspects of compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures that the facility meets licensing and accreditation standards. The Facility Admin is responsible to ensure that the quality programs are carried out as required by policies and procedures. He/she works closely with the physician leadership. The Admin is responsible for leading, educating and directing staff and to optimize the potential of each employee. He/she assumes fiscal accountability through budgetary oversight.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Nurse with current Texas license without sanctions, required
- Minimum of 3 years nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Strong skills in both oral and written format
- Management and leadership skills
- Must be flexible and service oriented
- Problem solving abilities with the ability to intervene immediately and awareness of changing conditions that may require additional assistance, (Critical-thinking)
- Customer focused
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for health care facilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Provide leadership, training, supervision, guidance and coaching to employees
- Courtesy and Respect for every staff member
- Assumes fiscal accountability through budgetary oversight.
- Ensure that Laboratory point of care testing and all CLIA waved testing is approved by the Laboratory Director
- Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
- Assume lead role for facility inspections, ensure biomedical has inspected all equipment
- Oversee all functional aspects of the facility including Nursing, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Dietary
- Ensure facility has appropriate supplies and medication to provide quality care. Work with Human Resources for employee issues, training and staff development.
- Manage supply, medication, staffing costs
- Ensures that staff comply with organization policies and procedures
- Participates with community events
- Work closely with the medical staff and participates in medical staff meetings
- Keep meeting minutes for meetings
- Ensures the facility in clean working order in accordance with OSHA and handles any reports of equipment failure or deficiencies.
- Ensures patient confidentiality and care is documented accurately in the patient chart.
- Utilizes company email as primary means of communication with staff.
- Ensures that staff receive communication that is directed from the Medical Director
- Manages any incidents and reports ensuring that the Medical Director is informed. Keeps incidents confidential
- Ensures that all federal regulation including but not limited to HIPPA, CMS and CLIA are adhered to by all staff
- Ensures staff have a safe clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Performs duties in a fast-paced emergency room
- The Facility Administrator must be able to lift and/or move using proper body mechanics and agree to assist staff when ask for assistance.
- While performing duties of this job, the Facility Administrator is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Manage and resolve conflict in an environment that has potential for high stress times.
- The Facility Administrator is expected to work a minimum of 8 clinical shifts monthly.
