Job Overview:
Sweetheart Ice Cream is looking for a highly organized and reliable Facility Fleet Supervisor to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our fleet and facility maintenance. This role will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of vehicles, as well as maintaining the upkeep of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a background in fleet management, truck repair experience, facility maintenance, and team leadership, with a strong focus on operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Management: Oversee and manage Sweetheart Ice Cream’s fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they are properly maintained, serviced, and operational. Coordinate with the District Managers on vehicle schedules, for proper maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Facility Maintenance: Supervise the upkeep of company facilities, ensuring that equipment, utilities, and infrastructure are maintained and functioning properly. This includes overseeing regular maintenance tasks and addressing facility-related issues promptly.
Team Leadership: Manage and guide a team of fleet drivers and maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety standards, and performance expectations. Provide training and support to improve skills, performance, and safety awareness.
Safety Compliance: Ensure fleet operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding vehicle safety, inspections, and maintenance. Enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Technical Skills: Experience working with software platforms that integrate GPS and camera systems (e.g., fleet management software, video management systems).
Inventory & Equipment Management: Monitor and manage inventory related to fleet maintenance, including parts, fuel, and supplies. Ensure that equipment is stocked and operational.
Budget Management: Work with management to prepare and manage the budget for fleet maintenance, facility repairs, and any necessary upgrades. Systematically track and maintain expenses, while looking for cost-effective solutions to reduce operational costs.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of fleet maintenance, repairs, inspections, and safety compliance. Provide regular reports to senior management on fleet performance, vehicle issues, and facility maintenance needs.
Vendor Management: Work with and seek external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs or services. Ensure commitments are fulfilled, and the company receives quality service at competitive rates.
Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve any fleet or facility-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fleet management, facility maintenance, or a similar role.
Proven experience in team leadership and supervision, with the ability to motivate and manage staff effectively.
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance related to fleet operations.
Familiarity with facility maintenance procedures and equipment.
Hands on truck mechanical repair experience.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external vendors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management software.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, as well as perform physical tasks as needed.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
