LOCATION: 15323 Proctor Avenue, City of Industry, CA 91745 SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday with occasional weekends (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM) PAY RATE FOR FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN: $31.88 - $39.00 per hour
The base salary or hourly wage range for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. JOB PURPOSE: The primary function of this position is to assist in monitoring the condition and functionality of our machines and buildings. This includes reviewing and updating spreadsheets to keep track of machine PMs and parts, and daily walkthroughs and inspections of our machines and facilities. In addition, this position will assist in machine safety by making sure our employees are trained to operate the machines and that the employees have their training records filed correctly.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Responsible for checking that all machines are ready for opening
Responsible for checking that all machines are functioning properly during operations
Responsible for checking that all machines are broken down and cleaned/sanitized properly at the end of production shifts
Responsible for repairing or performing maintenance on machines as needed. Make sure all parts are in good condition. Assist in troubleshooting any issues reported
Create/maintain machine PM spreadsheets. Follow up to make sure all departments are performing machine PM tasks on time and correctly
Create/maintain machine part inventory spreadsheets. If any items get low in inventory, a manager must be notified
Responsible for keeping records/lists of all ongoing maintenance needs and projects. Be ready to give reports/updates to managers when asked
Observe the facilities for any maintenance issues that need to be taken care of (floor, walls, ceiling), such as replacing burnt light bulbs
Perform weekly perimeter and roof checks to ensure everything is working properly
Perform painting and plumbing tasks when needed
Be able to check in/out our vendor technicians. Show them where to go for work orders. Communicate with the techs to determine what the issues were and how we can prevent these issues in the future. Also, make sure we are ready for when the vendors visit us. Our machines need to be freed up for the techs to work on them, which requires communication with the necessary department and an understanding of production schedules
Help receive new machines. Uncrate them, inspect them for damage during shipping. Go through the invoice/manuals, make sure all parts were delivered. Figure out where the machine will go and what is needed to get it set up (utilities, space, etc.)
Be able to conduct employee training for Equipment Training Logs (ETLs), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) certifications, and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) for new and existing equipment
Oversee the employee equipment training programs (ETLs, JHAs, LOTO) for both new hires and existing employees. Perform regular audits and training for the hourly leaders. Be able to review, create, and revise training documents as needed. Follow up with any departments that don’t have training records for their employees
Coordinate with the Learning & Development (L&D) team for employee training development programs
Ensure machine and facility safety. Perform equipment hazard assessments. Audit and inspect that machine guardings are installed and used correctly
Perform walkthroughs to make sure employees are using the machines correctly. Make sure only employees that are trained are using the machines. This also includes making sure employees are following lock out tag out procedures
Facilitate and participate in Safety Committee meetings
Assist with problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Provide management with detailed reports as required - daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
Other tasks as assigned by a manager/director
JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN:
A background in manufacturing and processing environment is desired
Proven mechanical strengths and experience
Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Reporting
Strong Organizational and Time Management
CERTIFICATIONS:
Electrical certification (Preferred)
ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
