    The Marketing Managers primary function involves developing and implementing strategies to strengthen the company’s market presence.  He / she will work directly with our leadership team to provide thoughtful and competent direction within key areas including brand marketing, digital and ecommerce strategy, product packaging, print media, content management, customer relations.  The Marketing Manager is responsible for providing guidance and supervision to our marketing department.  He / she will evaluate and develop marketing plans and strategies, and coordinating marketing efforts, communicating the marketing plans to those involved. The Marketing Manager will also attend and oversee the organization of trade shows, conferences, etc.

     TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST:

    • RESIDE LOCALLY – While some teleworking is allowed, the Marketing Manager will be collaborating with the marketing team in our VANCOUVER, WA FACILITY.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Build and lead a high performing Marketing Team who work together with a shared understanding of Fairwinds strategy and goals, and who collaborate with other departments in their achievement.
    • Oversees the design, content, ecommerce and monitoring of social media, assure brand continuity
    • Lead the marketing strategy, consumer insights and customer engagement initiatives for the Fairwinds brand. Work cross-functionally to present a cohesive and compelling brand experience to our target consumer that drives awareness, engagement, acquisition, traffic and sales to the brand.
    • Understand how to build a new brand, how to build a story around a brand
    • Plan and execute campaigns for promotion, launching of new product lines etc.
    • Control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects
    • Work with contractors for digital content marketing. Make recommendations and develop content based on marketing campaigns and corporate projects.
    • Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements
    • Prepares marketing activity reports; including, but not limited to marketing trends, product usage trends, digital marketing performance, environmental scans and return on investment analysis.
    • Actively monitor trends in digital marketing and emerging social media platforms
    • Analyze traffic and customer behavior to inform digital marketing strategy and prioritize initiatives which increase conversion, improve customer experience, and drive sales
    • Responsible for coordinating valuable content for the company’s online presence, editorial design and organizing the company’s publications
    • Produce ideas for promotional events or activities and organizing them efficiently
    • Develop marketing strategies, editorial identity and launch plans for new branding initiatives
    • Will need to coordinate and work at occasional Expo’s, industry events, Sporting events where Fairwinds is sponsoring.  Plan for necessary supporting brochures, set up, breakdown for successful events.

     SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to organize own work, coordinate projects, set priorities, meet and track deadlines and follow up on assignments with minimum direction
    • Candidate must have knowledge of cannabis terminology, and Cannabis Science is a plus
    • Possess strong business and operational senses; he / she can balance and address conflicting needs and timelines of multiple stakeholders
    • He / she can manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
    • Succinct, consistent, supportive, and transparent communication is utilized with all levels of the organization, regardless of the nature of the messages.
    • Goals and information are communicated in a direct, honest, and straightforward manner, to ensure there are no unnecessary surprises and all team members are on the same page.
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
    • Ability to maintain professional boundaries as well as handle sensitive personnel information with discretion.
    • Sets high, achievable, performance expectations, and coaches to achieving results.
    • Has proven success leading and inspiring a team.
    • Experience developing and leading overall marketing strategy independently, working closely with senior staff, and managing small internal teams.
    • Successful track record in in compiling and analyzing search data and metrics and make decisions regarding campaign direction
    • Experience developing detailed marketing plans
    • Candidate must have experience marketing different products within the same company and how to manage various brand styles while maintaining the overall company identity
    • Should be comfortable with public speaking
    • Have a broad knowledge of direct to consumer customer contact and ecommerce business processes
    • Strong attention to detail, assuring accuracy of correspondence and written materials before distribution.
    • The ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record of success in eCommerce marketing in a B2B vertical market, especially with new ecommerce start ups.
    • Fluency in Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Enhanced eCommerce, Google Tag Manager, Funnels, and A/B testing
    • Thorough knowledge of web analytics.  Platform Experience should include: Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, G suite, LinkedIn/Twitter/Facebook/Instagram, Google Analytics, etc.)
    • Experience with email marketing, PPC, and SEO
    • Knowledge of eCommerce business models, specifically how to drive eCommerce sales through innovative, effective, and cost-efficient marketing/merchandising programs and strategies
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    • Excellent written and verbal skills, in English

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be flexible to work occasional weekends and / or long days to meet deadlines.
    • Must be 21+ in age
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Must be able to pass a background check with security clearance
    • Must be professional in appearance and behavior
    • For Expo’s, industry events, etc., candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. up and down stairs.  Must be able to crawl, bend, stoop, and may be required to drive more than 40 miles upon occasion.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 5+ years of experience managing / marketing multiple products (required)
    • 3+ years experience managing a marketing team (required)
    • Experience Marketing in the cannabis and CPG industry a plus
    • General cannabis/hemp industry experience a plus.

    EDUCATION

    • BS / BA in Marketing or a closely related field.
