Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now! Responsibilities: • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed • Contribute to the sales efforts for the firm by handling incoming PNC calls • Take responsibility for collection rate and accounts receivables for your clients Qualifications: • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred • Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association) • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case • You must be comfortable and excited by the prospect of leveraging technology in the course of practicing law • A passion for the practice of divorce and family law • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois and live within our coverage area (Kane, Cook, Lake, DuPage, and Will Counties) • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 5+ years • Possess a solid working knowledge of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRMs, time tracking software, Slack, Zoom, etc. • Be ready to grow both personally and professionally in your role Compensation: $90,000 - $150,000 yearly, plus earning potential
