Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Responsibilities: • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed • Ensure timely communication with clients Qualifications: • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case • Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association) • Licensed in Massachusetts (required), Rhode Island (preferred) • At least 2-3 years of family law practice Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 + yearly
