Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Responsibilities: • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients Qualifications: • Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred • Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations • Bilingual in Spanish and/or French • A bachelor’s degree with a legal background and a J.D. degree is required • 2-3 years of experience in working with family law required • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Ability to successfully represent both the plaintiff and defendant sides of a case • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations Compensation: $75,000 - $110,000
