Our law firm is seeking a Family Attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including Divorce, Legitimation, child custody, and child support issues. You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. You’ll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. Responsibilities: • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed Qualifications: • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000 yearly
