Responsibilities: • Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies • Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs • Appear in court on behalf of clients and argue motions during legal proceedings • Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff • Get the appropriate legal documents ready for clients, such as brief, motions, and pleadings, as well as correspondence • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, forms and agreements to be used in proceedings • Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently • Communicate and meet with clients as necessary for cases • Perform legal research • Prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel Qualifications: • Able to work independently while handling multiple files • Decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must • Jobseekers should be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred Association • Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis) • Ability to use Microsoft Office is required • Successful completion of the bar exam • Minimum 1 year immigration law experience • Ability to work with other attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members, and senior attorneys • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 yearly
