Job Summary:
As a family law paralegal, you will be responsible for providing legal support to attorneys in the firm's fathers' rights practice. The role will assist attorneys by preparing legal documents, managing case files, conducting research, and coordinating court filings while maintaining clear communication with clients and providing empathetic support throughout sensitive legal processes. Our paralegals ensure compliance with deadlines and court procedures, helping streamline family law cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and finalize pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, parenting plans, and other legal documents.
- Organize and maintain case files, track deadlines, and coordinate with clients to gather necessary documents.
- Conduct legal research on family law statutes and analyze financial records for support and asset division.
- File legal documents with courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedural rules.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and gathering information while offering empathetic support.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, and case summaries.
- Prepare and manage discovery materials, such as interrogatories, subpoenas, and requests for production.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree and a paralegal certificate from an accredited institution
- At least 2-3 years of experience working as a paralegal, preferably in family law
- Strong research and writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research software
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
