Job Description
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the full cycle accounting, including day-to-day accounting management, sub-ledger journal entries, safeguarding organizational assets, and developing efficient business processes to record revenue. The accounting manager is also responsible for the continual improvement of internal control policies and processes.
In conjunction with the VP, Finance, the Accounting Manager maintains compliance with international, federal, state, and local regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise a team of Accountants (FLMZ)
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliation.
- Perform regular training sessions-software and accounting related principles
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Implements, maintains, and reviews FLMZ payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Prepares, records and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Analyzing financial data and creating financial reports and provide to users
- Audit accounts to ensure compliance with regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the independent audit as well as complete audit pre-list.
- Develop and maintain vendor record-keeping system
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on software, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations in regards to FLMZ Procurement System.
- Ensures compliance with international, local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Reviews sub-ledgers entries
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- Communicate with FLMZ Program Managers
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Advanced MS Office Suite, specifically Excel skills.
- Proficient with accounting systems such Sage Intacct
- Excellent knowledge of employment reporting procedures and record keeping.
- An analytical ability to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations and implement effective changes to streamline internal systems.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees.
- Ability to plan and organize work, adjust to changing priorities, and achieve objectives within deadlines.
- Critical thinking skills: analytical and problem-solving skills; decision-making skills and sound judgment.
