Responsibilities: • Conduct intake and needs assessment of individuals, significant others, and family members by testing, interviewing, observing, and holding discussion sessions • Collaborate with community organizations and attend weekly clinical team meetings • Participate in the development, implementation, and assessment of therapeutic treatment programs for each patient • Maintain accurate, thoroughly documented patient records with a quality of documentation that meets facility and licensing standards • Provide mental health services to families, couples, individuals, and children utilizing solution-focused therapy strategies for improving relationships • Maintain a professional appearance and professional attitude in face-to-face interactions as well as on the telephone, via virtual meetings, and on social media • Participate in team meetings • Quickly develop a good rapport with clients to facilitate a healthy professional relationship • Complete intake assessments which include documentation such as Mental Status Exams intake paperwork and other assessments • Communicate with referral sources as well as primary care physicians (PCP) after initial intake and as needed for ongoing care of clients • Complete invoices, bill payments, and progress notes within 24 hours of the time of service • Complete timesheet daily reflecting billable hours worked • Maintain client’s charts and keep complete and correct documentation • Monitor caseload and schedule to make sure clients are being scheduled or discharged as needed, and schedule parent consultation sessions as appropriate • Notify FCT within 24 hours if you: 1. learn of your client’s intent to do harm to self or others; 2. Receive a subpoena in relation to your work as a therapist regarding a client obtained via FCT or counseling services performed at FCT’s facilities or 3. File a child or adult protective services report • Exercise sound clinical and professional judgment • Monitor email and other communication channels, and provide timely responses to both teammates and clients to ensure a high standard of care • Maintain a clean working environment Qualifications: • This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a bachelor’s degree in a field such as counseling or social work; we prefer a master’s degree • State license that is current, unrestricted, and in good standing for a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) or equivalent • Must have 1-3 years of marriage and family therapy experience in a clinical setting • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as outstanding communication and interpersonal skills • Additional certifications required: CPR, BLS (Basic Life Support) • Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling or related field and registered or licensed in the state of California (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, PsyD, PhD, etc.) • At least 1 year of family systems therapy training and experience • Clinical experience with children, teens, adults, and/or families with mental health issues (trauma, anxiety, depression, family issues, couples’ issues, parenting, etc.) • Play Therapy experience • Knowledge of strategies for examining, applying, and evaluating various techniques and knowledge of child and adult attachment and positive parenting techniques • Must be warm, compassionate, energetic, and able to develop rapport with clients • Ability to empathize with clients • Willingness to continue to learn and grow (i.e. court therapy training provided in-house) • Maintain licensure requirements and complete continuing education as stated in the BBS Statutes and Regulations • Must be able to use a computer proficiently and for prolonged periods of time • Must have excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills • Must be willing to train in and follow all HIPPA rules and laws • Must be able to exercise sound clinical and professional judgment while interacting with anyone associated with FCT Compensation: $65 hourly
