Feed Ingredient Merchandiser – Furst-McNess Company
We are seeking a Feed Ingredient Merchandiser to join our commercial team. The successful candidate will execute the business plan by purchasing feed ingredients and managing relationships with suppliers while ensuring the timely execution of sales contracts with buyers. They will work closely with grain elevators, feed manufacturers, and other stakeholders to grow and maintain a consistent book of business.

Key Responsibilities:
Trading & Execution
- Source and originate macro and micro feed ingredients from regional suppliers to meet demands of end-user customers
- Maintain accurate records of all contracts and ensure documentation aligns with company policies and standards
- Monitor contract performance – address any issues that arise during or after execution with accounting, merchandising, or other relevant teams
- Ensure timely and cost-eIective logistics management
- Work with the team to ensure the timely execution of trades and compliance with company position limits and industry regulation
- Conduct regular risk assessments and performance evaluations of existing hedging strategies, making adjustments as necessary to align with market conditions and company objectives
Customer Success
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a steady supply of high-quality feed ingredients
- Conduct periodic visits to customer locations as part of a successful account management and relationship strategy
- Identify market opportunities to expand the company's footprint and drive new business development with end-users
- When necessary, work cross-functionally with accounting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments and invoices to commercial partners
Qualifications:
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to execute in a team environment
- High level of integrity – ability to earn trust of others
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, or related Ag degree, or the
- equivalent in related work experience along with 5+ years of experience in
- merchandising, trading, or grain or corn procurement
- Proven experience in commercial roles within the agricultural sector, specifically
- related to feed ingredient trading
- Experience managing bulk-freight logistics
