Job Description
JOB SUMMARY The Volunteer Coordinator performs administrative and logistics duties within the volunteer department in support of Feeding San Diego’s (FSD) overall mission of ending hunger in the community. This is accomplished by focusing on the recruiting, supervision, and retention of volunteers to assist with operational needs. Imperative to this role is a positive attitude, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. The Volunteer Coordinator may be required to complete other tasks as assigned by the Volunteer Manager in support of Feeding San Diego’s mission.
Shift: Tuesday Wednesday & Thursday from 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm, Friday from 9:00 am – 5:30 pm and Saturday from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

The majority of this role is administrative and will encompass scheduling volunteer groups, answering emails, and organizing outreach events. However, at least 1 day per week will be spent running volunteer shifts in our warehouse. The main tasks are listed below.

INTERACTION The Volunteer Coordinator will interact closely with individuals from the Operations, Programs and Marketing & Communications departments, as well as a diverse cross section of volunteer participants from the community.
