    Job Description

    E-COMMERCE SPECIALIST FOR PROP HOUSE

Fennick Studio Props is the premier prop house for 1930s -1970s vintage props for the film, television, and commercials industry. Our customers include all the big television and film production companies in the greater New York City metropolitan area including Bull, Gotham, Bridge of Spies, Matilda on Broadway, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Kevin Can Wait, Oceans 8, Crime, and more.

    WHY WE NEED YOU

We have 60,000 square feet of rare and eclectic props but hardly any of it is on our website. We’re finally upgrading our operations to use an ecommerce inventory control system that tracks our prop rentals. And we need somebody smart and computer savvy to help run it.

We’re looking for a leader to help us modernize this company and eventually become our General Manager. Somebody who works well independently, is more results oriented than process oriented, and is more logical and systems-driven than creative, though there is plenty of opportunity for creativity.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Move, clean, and photograph thousands of props on a white seamless background. Must be able to lift 45 pounds and move large and heavy objects around the warehouse.
    2. Enter thousands of props into our inventory control system. This means many grueling hours of data entry for the first 3-6 months. But you can listen to music and you’ll meet famous set decorators from big movies and TV shows.
    3. Monitor the shopping activity on our ecommerce website. Find out which props our customers are searching for, viewing, and adding to orders.
    4. Generate inventory reports and advise the sales team on how to curate/enhance our prop inventory to better serve our customers.
    5. Work with our sales team to process orders and determine pricing.
    6. Work with our web team to optimize our website to provide an amazing online shopping experience for our customers.
    7. Post your prop photos on the company Instagram account and engage with our audience.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

You know how to use a computer - WELL. That means quickly and effectively. If you’re still using the mouse to copy and paste and don’t know how to Google the answers to your questions, this job is not the right fit for you!

You have experience buying and selling products online. Whether it’s eBay, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, Chairish, 1stdibs, OfferUp, a Shopify website, affiliate marketing, anything. We want to know about your experience. What did you buy or sell? If selling, what was your pricing strategy? What did you like and not like about the platform you were using?

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

You’ve worked in a prop house, a warehouse, a manufacturing company, or a rental company.

You know something about product photography like lighting, angle, and placement. We have thousands of products to photograph, so we want fast shots but good shots only.

You understand how Instagram works and how brands use it to engage with customers. If you’re anti-social media, this is not the position for you!

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

Work 30 - 40 hours a week at our prop house in Passaic, New Jersey. We’re flexible on your start and finish time, but we expect you to keep reliable hours.

    PAY

Starts at $20 - $25 per hour commensurate with experience.

    HOW TO APPLY

Email a relevant resume and cover letter in PDF format. Your resume should list only relevant experience. Your cover letter should be half a page explaining why you’re a good fit for this position. Make sure both documents are in PDF format. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
