The Field Assistant supports the Influx Building Technologies team on construction sites, ensuring that framing projects are executed efficiently, safely, and according to plan. The role involves hands-on tasks such as pick up and deliveries, troubleshooting, and assisting in construction activities related to wood framing.
Requirements:
Must have a basic understanding of common materials used in wood framing, i.e. lumber types, basic hardware elements such has hangers, etc.
Bilingual – Spanish/English
Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Must be able to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record may be required depending on the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Support:
Assist field teams in setting up and organizing equipment, materials, and tools.
Conduct basic site inspections and observations under the supervision of the Field Supervisor.
Assist with field measurements, data collection, and testing as required.
Logistical Coordination:
Coordinate the delivery and retrieval of materials and equipment to and from the site.
Ensure that necessary supplies are available on-site and inform the supervisor of any shortages.
Help maintain a clean and organized job site by ensuring proper storage and handling of materials.
Documentation and Reporting:
Assist in documenting site activities, including completing daily logs and taking photos of site progress.
Help prepare and submit reports on field activities to the Field Supervisor or Project Manager.
Collect and record data from field tests and inspections.
Communication:
Serve as a liaison between field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth communication.
Communicate any issues or concerns to the Field Supervisor in a timely manner.
Support field staff with administrative tasks as needed, such as coordinating schedules or handling paperwork.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all work is conducted in compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Assist in setting up safety barriers and signs on-site to keep the area secure.
Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Additional education in construction, environmental science, or engineering is a plus but not required.
Certification in OSHA safety training is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience in construction, fieldwork, or a related area is preferred but not mandatory.
On-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in construction or field operations.
