Job Title: Mechanic Field II
Reports to: Branch Manager
Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Weekends as needed - OT eligible)
Job Summary:
The Mechanic Field II is responsible for the preventative maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of various crane equipment including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Hydraulic Truck & Crawler Cranes, etc.), tractors, trailers, and other various equipment at the company shop or in the field and/or job site. The Mechanic must have experience with Electrical and Hydraulic Systems, Steering, Suspension, and Pinning Boom Systems (heavy equipment, semi-truck, trailers and cranes).
Essential Functions:
Provide support and assist with the DOT inspections on trailers, tractors and cranes.
Perform PM service on all equipment.
Assist technicians as needed.
Replace lights, mud flaps and trailer decking.
Provide support and assist with air brake inspection and replacement.
Provide support and assist with Samsara installation.
Provide support for Crane technicians.
Ability to travel and work out of a service vehicle.
Ability to provide support as on call 24/7 Field Mechanic.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Mechanic.
Strong organizational skills

Pneumatic Air System
Diesel engine experience
Electrical and Hydraulic Systems
Steering, Suspension, and Pinning Boom Systems (heavy equipment, semi-truck, trailers and cranes).
Minimum Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must be able to read, write and understand English.
Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in a standard construction environment with prolonged periods of standing, sitting and/or walking. Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting objects up to 100 pounds at times. May occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme noise and physical harm in areas requiring hard hats, safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes.
Ability to pass DOT pre-placement physical and physical capacities exam.
