    The Position:

    Getac is searching for a Field Service Engineer located in the West Coast Region. This role involves actively driving and managing technology evaluations during the pre-sales process and providing comprehensive support post-sales.     Essential Job Duties

    • Able to provide technical service support for all company products including software configurations, wireless infrastructure, in-car video solution, and vehicle docking stations.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (Field Sales, Technical Support, Solutions Architects and Management Team) on a daily basis.
    • Escalate issues in a timely manner.
    • Provide excellent customer service and phone etiquette in handling key accounts and building account relationships.
    • Maintain positive professional relationships with all end-customers, sales and vendors/resellers.
    • Able to travel for post-field sales support activities with customers.
    • Perform other duties/special projects as required. · Responsible for timely, accurate and detailed communication and tracking of projects via internal systems.
    • Able to travel throughout the US and Canadian sales territory
    • Able to travel internationally as required · Identify all technical issues of assigned customer accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the post-sales process.
    • Must be able to follow-up and use technical capabilities to support customer post-sales issues.
    • Requires travel 50 to 75% of the time within the US and Canada

    Other Duties:

    • Weekly Operations Calls: Attend weekly operations calls with respective teams.
    • Reporting: Complete weekly reports and daily reports on projects during implementation.
    • Expense Reports: Ensure timely and accurate expense report submissions.
    • Troubleshooting: Document troubleshooting solutions for team knowledge share.

    Experience & Education:

    • Education: Associates degree or comparable certification is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
    • Experience: 2 years in information technology is preferred.
    • Teamwork: Excellent teamwork and prior experience in collaboration with field sales team, solutions architects, R&D engineers, end-customers and 3rd party vendors is required.
    • Problem Solving: Ability to multi-task, prioritize and escalate troubleshooting issues in a time sensitive manner is expected.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, communication organizational skills are needed.
    • Attributes: Must be a self-starter with energy, initiative, and a strong work ethic and thrive in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment.

    Computer & Software Skills:

    • Networking: Previous networking experience and certifications a plus.
    • Hardware and Software: Experience with technology in vehicles to include in-car video and body worn cameras or laptops, tablets, handhelds, and mobile devices.
    • OS/Image builds – INF drivers, system drivers, BIOS, encryption, etc. Microsoft Certification a plus.
    • Experience supporting end-user installation, configuration, upgrades and migration.
    • Use of computer systems, MS office is required. Prior experience in a technical support role or project management role is a plus.

    Travel:

    • Extensive Travel Required: This position requires substantial travel, approximately 50% to 75% of the time, both within the regional territory and occasionally internationally.
    • Driving Requirements: A valid Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance, and a driving record that meets the company's insurer's criteria are required. Use of one's own vehicle is necessary in the course of work.
    • International Requirements: A valid passport is necessary for occasional international travel.

    The Location:

    Getac is located in Irvine, CA but this position would be able to be based in the West Coast region.
