  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Field service work includes the commissioning, operation, testing, integration, optimization, maintenance, and repair of TOMRA mining equipment.
    • Predominantly for Mining in North America, but occasionally in Central and South America but similar tasks in other TOMRA Sorting business streams may occur.
    • Travels approximate 180 days/year.
    • Supports Tomra sorter auxiliary mineral processing equipment
    • Provides on call technical phone support and field response to equipment and customer issues.
    • Provides training of customer’s maintenance and service personnel.
    • Is the primary point of contact for the local installation base in Mining for sorters manufactured by TOMRA Sorting.
    • Ensures the maximum performance of the TOMRA Sorting system in the field to satisfy the customers.
    • Responsible for an effective field service work in terms of costs and timing.
    • Offers ideas about improvement possibilities from quality to efficiency and profitability.
    • Acts positively and is customer oriented.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Excellent communication skills necessary: 1) Ability to deal effectively with customers in the English language and ideally second language skills
    • LATAM travel experience.
    • 3 years of work experience in industrial equipment support role.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work on problems of diverse scope.
    • Working knowledge of basic analog and digital circuits, electrical power circuits, PLC circuits.
    • Knowledge of computer hardware and configurations.
    • Working knowledge of basic test equipment such as oscilloscope and voltmeter.
    • Preferred experience in mining environment.
    • Assist and support customers in a professional manner.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, internal and external associates, and management.
    • Must be able to pass criminal background check.

    Additional Information

    • Job requires frequent bending, kneeling, and standing.

    • Lifting of up to 80 lbs.

    • Working in confined spaces.

    • Ability to drive for long distances.

    • Ability to distinguish between the full range of colors in the color spectrum.

    • No major allergies that would impede on the job requirements.

    • Ability to work in mineral processing plants, high altitudes, and outside in high/low temperatures.

    • Experience in field service and customer support.

    • Experience in electronic system troubleshooting.

    • Strong electrical skills are a must. Working knowledge of basic analog and digital circuits, electrical power circuits, PLC circuits.

    • Knowledge of computer hardware and configurations.

    • Basic knowledge of MS Office products; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    • Ability to read schematics.

    • A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field such as Control & Instrumentation, Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent experience is required.

    • Not a supervisory role.

    • Extensive domestic and international travel, up to 80%.

    • Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport.

    • Ability to drive without restrictions.
