We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing support to Matrix customers regarding installation, technical support, field service, training, and startup of all company products. The priorities of this position are to provide top-notch customer service and promote Matrix safety products. The candidate must be a self-starter, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work alone or in a small team. The candidate will work out of the home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position.
This position reports to the Field Service and Support Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical support in the form of troubleshooting on site or via phone.
Perform installations, startup, and commissioning of various products.
Test and troubleshoot system functions and train customers on operation and maintenance.
Perform weekly site visits and maintain customer relationships.
Coordinate service schedule with customers at various locations.
Perform field inspections and analysis of equipment in service and report to supervisor or development team.
Create Service Tickets, Equipment Records, and Sales Orders.
Qualifications & Competencies
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Certificate of Completion from a Technical or Trade School.
Mining application experience and background preferred but not required.
Must have basic computer skills and be able to use Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong time management skills and organization skills.
Safety-minded (safety must be a priority).
Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Quality minded, resourceful, and dependable.
Working Conditions
Candidates will be required to work underground daily.
Occasional travel and ability to work various shifts as required by customer.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near large moving machinery.
Customer operations may contain airborne particles and allergens.
The employee can be at risk of electrical shock.
Matrix employees are furnished and required to wear safety gear such as hard hats, steel toe shoes, reflective clothing, earplugs, and safety glasses.
