    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Primary responsibilities include the installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of industrial packaging equipment and machinery at customer manufacturing and distribution facilities. We service a wide range of manufacturing sectors - the largest customer base is food/beverage manufacturers.

    This job is ideal for those who enjoy hands-on, problem solving responsibilities. This is NOT for those who prefer to spend their time at a desk. This job requires technicians who are self-driven, who welcome problem solving opportunities, and who are responsive to customers' needs. Being able to work with people is a must, along with organizational skills and the ability to think on their feet.

    Overnight travel is required (50%) and it can vary greatly from time to time. Some projects/assignments may require air travel and multiple days on site. Regional travel is required. Most of the work will take place at customer manufacturing facilities.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The primary function is to install, diagnose, audit, service, and repair industrial labeling machinery and packaging equipment in industrial manufacturing facilities.
    • Conduct training on equipment, its capabilities and operation to the customer; responds to all questions in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
    • Accurately completes all necessary paperwork including but not limited to work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules.
    • Safely operates assigned company vehicle and ensures that it is maintained according to manufacturer’s specifications.
    • When on call, ensures availability by telephone or pager contact at all times for service calls.
    • Self-schedule projects and service calls
    • Assist sales team on various sales projects and demonstrations; Promote service contracts and additional technical services
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong technical knowledge on mechanical and electrical systems
    • PLC Programming encouraged
    • Experience in Mechatronics
    • Skilled machinery trouble-shooting and root-cause-analysis
    • 2+ Years Technical and/or Manufacturing experience
    • Ability to travel (over-night when required)
    • Valid drivers license
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
    • Military experience welcomed

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Frequently required to stand for periods over 2 hours
    • Frequently required to drive for periods of 2 – 5 hours (Occasionally at night)
    • Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
    • Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 51 pounds
    • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 75 pounds
    • Occasional exposure to warm and/or humid conditions (Typically seasonal)
    • Occasional exposure to cold conditions (Typically seasonal)
    • Rarely work in elevated or confined spaces
    • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
    • Frequently work around fumes and/or cleaning agents
    • Occasional loud noise (examples: metal can manufacturing, general machinery)
