    Position Overview:

    **This role is 30% - 40% Travel**

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer with expertise in Metrology, Materials Science, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of equipment and systems in the field. This role requires frequent travel to client sites, providing technical support and ensuring optimal performance of our products.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    Installation & Commissioning: Install and commission metrology, materials testing, or mechanical/electrical systems at customer sites, ensuring that equipment is operational and meets performance specifications.

    Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Diagnose and repair any issues, minimizing downtime for the customer.

    Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and training to customers, both remotely and on-site. Troubleshoot complex technical problems, using your expertise in metrology, materials science, mechanical, or electrical engineering.

    Customer Interaction: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Provide feedback to internal teams on customer needs and equipment performance.

    Documentation: Accurately document service activities, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and customer feedback. Ensure all records comply with company policies and industry standards.

    Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while on-site. Ensure that all equipment is installed and operated safely and in compliance with relevant regulations.

    Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your technical skills and knowledge.

     

    Qualifications:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

    Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a field service engineering role, preferably with experience in metrology, materials testing, or mechanical/electrical systems.

     

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of metrology equipment and materials testing methodologies.

    • Proficient in mechanical or electrical system troubleshooting and repair.

    • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software used in equipment maintenance.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

     

    Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

    • Customer-focused with a strong commitment to service excellence.

    Travel: Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays, to customer sites.

    Certifications: Relevant certifications in metrology, electrical, or mechanical systems are a plus.

    $90,000-$110,000 per year
