About the Role: Barker & Sons is seeking a collaborative and proficient leader to mentor and support our team of skilled field technicians. As the Field Supervisor & Trainer within our Operations Team, you will work closely with our Service Manager to provide technical training, ensure quality control, oversee field operations, and contribute to the overall success of our plumbing technicians. Your responsibilities will include guiding daily operations through mentorship, training, process enhancements, and coaching to establish and maintain high-quality, profitable practices. Responsibilities: • Provide leadership and accountability for Field Technicians through regular 1:1s, ride-a-longs, and consistent communication. • Conduct training sessions for Field Technicians on technical skills, company processes, safety regulations, and quality standards. • Oversee and lead the company's Quality Assurance program to ensure service excellence is maintained. • Monitor the performance of Field Technicians and offer guidance on areas of improvement. • Continually enhance service delivery through training sessions with Field Technicians. • Assist in conducting ride-a-longs and debriefs to reinforce positive behaviors among Field Technicians. • Review feedback with Field Technicians to improve service quality. • Maintain expertise in Plumbing technical competencies. • Collaborate with technicians and dispatch to ensure department success. • Engage in training sessions and meetings, actively participating or leading when necessary. • Assist Field Technicians in resolving customer concerns effectively to ensure satisfaction. • Aid in the onboarding process for new Field Technicians. Qualifications: Required: • Career-long track record of growth and success as a plumbing field technician and/or plumbing service manager. • Impeccable understanding of plumbing best practices, code, and operational considerations that apply on residential job sites. • Strong technical understanding of plumbing products, solutions, and service invoicing. • Ability to build trust, demonstrate empathy, and inspire others to attain objectives. • Detail-focused, self-starter that gets things done. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Quick, sound decision-making abilities with the ability to Excel in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment. • Adept at creating and improving processes, systems, and quality of work delivered. • Able to work out of our Orange County office and/or in the field with technicians daily. • Able to work weekends. • Hold a valid (CA) driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Able to pass a background check for Home Services. Preferred: • Plumbing Journeyman’s License. • 15+ years as a Plumbing Technician and/or Plumbing Service Manager. • Experience running a home service plumbing Quality Assurance program. • Experience managing and/or leading safety programs • Good presentation and public speaking skills. Desired: • Experience conducting call-by-call management. • Experience within a Nexstar Network Home Services Company. • Experience using Service Titan or similar home services support software. • Experience developing and delivering training programs to Field Technicians. Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 yearly
