Industry: Telecommunications. Full-time Position Location: Macon County, NC, but may vary. Education: HS or equivalent Office Location: Franklin, NC Reports to Field Operations Manager
Responsible for installation, maintenance, and support of fiber installations.
· You will assist with monitoring and maintaining the customer network and all fiber-related equipment, including radios, switches, and routers.
· Review trouble reports for hardware, software, equipment, and service concerns with members of the BalsamWest team.
· Assist with setup and testing of new trial equipment, technologies, and programs. Specializing in various fiber CPE technologies.
· Participate in on-call rotation, which requires evening and weekend commitments.
· Present a professional and respectful appearance and attitude when working with customers and fellow teammates.
· Maintain a good working relationship with the Customer Service team and our after-hours answering service, One Path.
· Display an open mind to learning and growing within the BalsamWest teams.
· Participate in required training such as CPNI, Red Flag, rooftop and RF awareness, ladder safety, and all other training available.
· You must keep a clean driving record and a clean and maintained company vehicle. Impairing your driving record is likely to cause a loss of employment. Company equipment and tools must be kept safe and in good working order.

Skill Requirements.
· Proficient with Windows and browser software.
· Willingness to learn about PON fiber networks and other FTTH equipment, PRTG, and other monitoring software.
· You must want to learn about terminating cables for computer and electrical components.
· Candidate should be comfortable climbing on ladders, under buildings, and into small spaces.
· You may need to lift and carry items up to 60 pounds.
· Willingness to learn about Cat 5e, Cat 6, and APC and UPC fiber connections. Effective at troubleshooting and problem-solving.
· Willingness to learn about IP, Ethernet, and Fiber networks. Some knowledge of electrical wiring is a plus.
· Communications with customers, teammates, and vendors must always be professional.
