Job Summary: The Fill Plant Operator is responsible for safely handling and filling compressed gas cylinder products, ensuring they are ready for timely delivery to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Cylinder Filling: Safely fill high- and low-pressure gas cylinders, as well as liquid containers, in accordance with established safety and quality procedures.
Labeling and Preparation: Accurately label, tag, and prepare cylinders for delivery.
Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload cylinders on/off company trucks and pallets, ensuring secure placement.
Cylinder Handling: Use proper techniques to roll cylinders to designated work areas and inspect returned cylinders for surface defects, such as dents, cracks, or burns.
Maintenance: Clean cylinders, remove old labels, and perform minor repairs and maintenance as needed.
Product Identification: Understand gas hazards, cylinder contents, sizes, and color-coding by reading and interpreting labels.
Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain sufficient stock levels to meet customer demand.
Quality Control: Manage and maintain accurate fill records in compliance with quality control standards.
Specialty Gas Support: Assist in the specialty gas laboratory as required.
Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Must be punctual and have a good attendance record.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior knowledge or experience in the gas and welding industry is a plus.
Willing to train candidates without prior experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
Frequent lifting of 50-75 pounds and ability to maneuver cylinders weighing over 100 pounds (e.g., rolling or using a cart).
Prolonged periods of standing (up to 8 hours).
