Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join the Henry Morrison Flager Museum. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounts payable, general accounting, and finance administration. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accounts Payable:
• Process and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
• Maintain vendor files and manage vendor relationships.
• GeneralAccounting:
• Assist in the maintenance of financial records.
• Perform data entry and ensure accuracy of financial information.
• Reconcile monthly accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
Administrative Support:
• Assist with audits and other financial reviews.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files and records.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excel a must.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
