SUMMARY
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the general accounting operations of the company by controlling and verifying financial transactions. The Finance Manager responsibilities include maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of month-end close procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. A successful Finance Manager combines excellent analytical skills with strong knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial statements and forecasts. The ideal candidate is experienced in collaborating with and managing a team of accountants and bookkeepers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Finance Department including but not limited to execution of the billing and payable function, supervising department staff, and maintaining departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Direct and coordinate the maintenance of the chart of accounts, ensure prompt receivables collection, maintain controls over accounting transactions and ensure timely billing and processing of payables within account terms.
- Assist with the company’s financial planning, financial forecasts, and budget management functions.
- Monitor and analyze client profitability and monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results against budget. Report variances and recommendations to TMAC leadership. Maintain detailed account analysis of critical balance sheet accounts.
- Support parent company reporting requirements
- Assist in the preparation of schedules for Request for Proposals (RFPs) from Clients as directed by Management.
- Support the review of policies and processes and make recommendations for process improvements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Represent the company externally to clients and vendors.
- Supervise and evaluate department staff.
- Support new employee orientation by providing expense reporting and other accounting policies and procedures as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent, 2 to 5 years of accounting/finance experience.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling forecasts, and segment profitability analysis.
- Professional writing, verbal communication and people skills. Excellent presentation skills. Ability to motivate team to complete tasks within established deadlines and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables. Hands-on experience with Oracle accounting software preferred
