Thriving manufacturer of consumer packaged foods is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Operations Manager at their location in the South San Jose, CA area. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the manufacturing facility. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial processes within a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for manufacturing operations.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics, including cost variances, profit margins, and operational efficiency.
Cost Management:
- Oversee cost accounting activities, including cost analysis, cost control, and inventory management.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within manufacturing operations.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Operational Support:
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to align financial objectives with operational goals.
- Support capital expenditure analysis and investment decisions.
Compliance & Controls:
- Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and address any discrepancies or issues.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, financial reporting, and budget management.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with senior management.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
