The Role and Purpose
As our Finance and Grants Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to improve maternal and child health outcomes. In this dual capacity, you will oversee our financial operations with precision while leading our grant acquisition and management efforts. This unique position offers the opportunity to apply your financial expertise while directly contributing to the growth and success of our critical community health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
· Maintain and update the General Ledger using Fund EZ software, ensuring meticulous classification of accounts and cost centers.
· Perform regular reconciliations of all GL accounts to maintain data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
· Generate and analyze comprehensive financial reports to support strategic decision-making processes.
· Compile and submit monthly claims, categorized by individual cost centers, and manage the collections process.
· Review and process purchase requisitions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and budgetary constraints.
· Oversee payroll operations, including thorough reviews of payroll reports and proper integration with the general ledger system.
Grant Management
· Conduct in-depth research to identify suitable healthcare-related grants using specialized databases and resources.
· Draft compelling grant applications, incorporating detailed budgets and impactful project descriptions.
· Maintain meticulous records of grant-related expenses and ensure strict compliance with budget allocations.
· Prepare comprehensive financial reports for grantors, often on a quarterly or annual basis.
· Create and closely monitor project budgets, tracking actual expenses against projected costs.
· Ensure organizational adherence to grant requirements and regulations specific to healthcare funding.
· Collaborate with team members to gather necessary data for applications and impact reports.
· Track application deadlines, reporting due dates, and project milestones with precision
Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or 5-7 years of equivalent accounting experience
· 2-3 years of proven experience in accounting and grant management, preferably in a non-profit or healthcare setting.
· Strong understanding of and ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
· Proficiency with accounting software (Fund EZ preferred) and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Demonstrated experience with grant application processes and management.
· Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey our organization's mission and needs through compelling grant proposals and reports.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, community-oriented environment.
· Adaptability and resilience in the face of changing priorities and deadlines.
