    OUR MISSION

    Brookside Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is a Jesus-centered church committed to building Jesus-centered homes through healthy relationships resulting in Gospel-saturated communities.

    VISION & PURPOSE OF ROLE

    The vision for this role is to facilitate the organization and administration of Human Resources, accounting, and giving within the church. The purpose of the role is to support the staff and leaders by administering accounting and policy management.

    Job Type: Hourly // Average Hours/Week: 29 hours

    Reports To: Executive Pastor

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • ****Balance and reconcile all church accounts monthly
    • Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable for church
    • Reconciles church bank statements with the church's ledger
    • Record weekly contributions and deposits
    • Prepare monthly reports for church leadership team and ministry teams
    • Prepare quarterly giving statements and annual statements
    • Produce all annual tax reports (W-2's, 1099's, etc.)
    • Prepare year-end financial reports for annual meeting
    • Maintain giving/donor software and reconcile weekly
    • Maintain records for annual financial review by CPA
    • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned
    • Process payroll
    • Process applicable IRS records
    • Process insurance enrollments and terminations as needed
    • Maintain HR records
    • Attends meetings with church executive staff to discuss finances
    • Support whole church ministries under direction of Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor
    • Maintain confidentiality of all financial information
    • Inspires confidence from congregation and church executive staff regarding integrity and ability

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Required Degree or Training in accounting
    • 3-5 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting
    • Training on QuickBooks or other financial software

    • Attention To Detail - Demonstrates exceptional precision and accuracy in financial record-keeping, consistently maintaining meticulous documentation and ensuring error-free financial transactions. Systematically reviews and cross-checks numerical data, reconciles accounts accurately, and identifies discrepancies by carefully examining financial records. Exhibits strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to managing complex financial information, with the ability to maintain focus and thoroughness even when handling repetitive or extensive documentation.

    • Team Collaborator - Actively collaborates with Staff and Elder board members, maintaining professional and constructive relationships that support organizational financial objectives. Communicates transparently, responds promptly to requests, and provides clear, accurate financial information to leadership. Demonstrates respect for organizational governance, maintains confidentiality, and contributes to a cohesive working environment across different levels of leadership.

    • Ability to follow through on processes, policies, and procedures
    • Ability to have attention to detail with the flexibility that the ministry often needs
    • Ability to be financial record keeper for an organization and be able to communicate information well
    • Ability to communicate with people promptly
