Job Description
The Financial Aid Specialist will train and oversee financial aid representatives at all campuses as well as administer, package, and award aid within the required timelines for students and their families on behalf of The Academy.
Must have knowledge of current Department of Education regulations to ensure proper handling of funds.
Completes quarterly and yearly Federal government reports.\

Verify student if applicable
Loan Disclosure Completed to determine eligibility /acceptance of aid package
Request Disbursements
Send FAME Tuition reports to accountant weekly
Disbursing
Disburse aid using Direct Loan / Pell Disbursement Sheet
Cross check disbursements entered into student ledgers for accuracy
Payments
Compile daily tuition deposits and take to the bank
Monitor Tuition Options Payments weekly
Collections
Training Financial Aid Representatives
Attend & Schedule Reps for financial aid training (webinars or onsite)
Document Verification
Oversee Accurate Placement Order for Student Files as per FA checklist
Reporting & Compliance
Ipeds - 4 times per year
Campus Crime Annual Report
1098-T’s to student and IRS
Gainful Employment Reports
Net Price Calculator
NSLDS updates
Compile data for Program Review if Academy is selected to complete a review
Review Cohort Default Report and present to Director/owner(s)
Update Academy policies affecting financial aid with the help of the owner/director
Title IX - Personal Annual Training, staff annual training, new student informational session, Monitor of reported events,
Constitutions day - completed annually, present to student and staff

Conduct Exit Interview and collect documentation including Exit Loan Counseling for students who withdraw
Complete R2T4 SERVICER worksheet for Title IV Aid students who withdraw
Complete Academy Refund Worksheet for withdrawals
Ensure failed Satisfactory Academic Progress evaluations are reviewed
Audits

Work with Director and Director of Financial Aid to the necessary documents/files
