    Job Description

    AHRC NYC is looking to hire a full-time Financial Analyst. This position has an annual salary of $65k and comes with a very generous comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below.

    ** ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**

    • Provides administrative and analytical support for the Director and the Associate Vice President for the agency’s annual forecasting and budgeting processes
    • Assists the Director with creation, compiling, and distribution of standard reports in accordance with the Budget Calendar. Creates ad hoc reports as needed.
    • Prepares financial analysis, with an emphasis on OTPS expense categories, utilizes data to prepare recommendations on efficiencies and cost saving strategies.
    • Partners with the Director in construction and oversight of Agency’s administrative budget, oversees communications and reporting as requested
    • Serves as the Financial liaison and subject matter expert for budgeting and financial management for Program Departments, with particular emphasis on Adult Day Services, Employment and Business Services, and Individualized Support.
    • Responds to requests for budget modifications from the departments, manages process and follows up with stakeholders to ensure timely implementation. Performs regular updates for the agency’s Current Modified Budget with approved modifications and ensures that reconciliation between Prophix and GP is maintained.
    • Assists the Manager, Capital, Property and IT systems with the day-to-day accounting and reporting functions in the budget software, Prophix
    • Distributes monthly reports to department managers, providing training where necessary
    • Oversees the Reporting Unit request process, performing regular updates and maintenance across the agency’s IT systems
    • Performs other tasks and analysis as assigned
  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required.

    • Minimum of two years financial experience, preferably with large, complex nonprofit agency, as well as related experience in budgeting, analysis and reporting.

    • Expert computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (with particularly strong skills in Excel).

    • Ability to effectively combine technical expertise with financial knowledge.

    • Ability to assist in research and analyses of technical data.

    • Strong communication skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.

    • Strong customer service skills.

    • Proven ability to work productively and collaboratively within a team-driven environment.

    • Flexibility to operate in a rapidly-changing work environment.

    • Experience with automated general ledger system, specifically Great Plains, Management Reporter preferred but not required.

    • Demonstrable passion for the agency’s mission.
