ABOUT THE POSITION
The Financial Controller prepares and analyzes key financial information, manages the financial closing process (financial statements, reconciliations), in addition to preparing financial and operational reports for executive leadership. This position currently will play a leadership role in the ERP system implementation project, as well as assisting the group holding company with local IT/systems management duties. The Financial Controller works under moderate supervision and reports to the CFO.
This position has access to sensitive and confidential information considered proprietary to the company. Maintaining strict confidentiality and judgement regarding sensitive materials and matters are essential to this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for coordinating and implementing the monthly and annual financial closing process in accordance with U.S. GAAP, and ensuring compliance with group expectations and deadlines. Completes monthly balance sheet reconciliations and works closely with Management Accountant ensuring transactions are properly recorded in the system
Provides executive management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide effective policy making and financial strategizing
Interacts with group accounting/controlling departments for intercompany transaction management, provides intercompany reporting as requested (e.g. Loans, Shares/Stock transactions)
Key contributor to current ERP system implementation project team, including system setups, testing transactions, process documentation and training (current launch date is April 1, 2025)
Responsible for setting standard costs (in coordination with group controlling department) for manufactured goods, including understanding the cost components such as labor, raw materials and overhead costs. Provides management with accurate and timely product manufacturing cost analyses to ensure product profitability over the production life of the item.
Provides operational / KPI reporting to key members of management, providing insights and analysis of results (Operational Effectiveness, Energy ISO 50001, Sales/Marketing, Human Resources, etc.)
Assists CFO with Physical Inventory processes – multiple warehouses; raw materials, wip, finished goods.
Assists CFO with annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes; summarizes budget trends, analyzing deficiencies and reporting variances
Collaborates with the executive team to establish more effective processes and internal controls, to ensure the integrity of the accounting data and streamlining accounting functions and operations where possible. Also updates process documentation and performs training as needed
Responds promptly, accurately, and professionally to third party inquiries (i.e. customers, vendors, bank, accountants, regulatory agencies)
Ensures appropriate regulatory compliance – Local, State, Federal; manage stakeholder relationships (accountants, bank, holding/group) to ensure all regulatory expectations are met
Assists Management Accountant with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger transactions as needed
Performs financial review of weekly payroll processing, working closely with Human Resources. Assists with processing payroll as needed (vacation cover)
Acts as local IT coordinator, assisting the group IT department with analyzing and resolving technical issues, providing technical support to JUS associates (including setting up IT for new hires, software/hardware training, and assisting with various technology-related issues)
Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Highly competent in required technical job skills and knowledge, knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude, strong problem-solving, time-management, and planning/organization abilities
Ability to provide IT technical support – advanced computer skills
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
Ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or similar degree
Experience: 3+ years of related experience
HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in ERP system implementation
Experience in providing IT technical support - resolving queries, training end-users for IT needs
Proficiency with ERP/Accounting systems (for example SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, PowerBI)
