Financial Manager
(BA) bachelor’s in accounting – Required or higher
Job Type: Part-Time (on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 5pm)
Pay: Non Exempt, $37.16 to $61.30 Per hour
Work Location: Staten Island NY 10304, In person
Reports to the (CEO) Chief Executive Officer
Job Description:
The Financial Manager is responsible for the financial accounting reporting mandates. The role of Financial Manager includes ensuring the organization’s financial health and sustainability for longevity by proper allocation of funds as our contract budgetary guidelines.
- Nonprofit Accounting, supervising & Financial Reporting experience (required)*
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing all the financial operations including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and auditing.
- Prepare financial reports and summaries prior to Board Meetings as well as monthly reports.
- Supervises the job performance and delegates accounting tasks to the Bookkeeper.
- Manages accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Preparation of yearly tax returns (990) and payment of payroll taxes and enter payroll for processing.
- Work Knowledge experience using Government reporting systems like Passport, etc.
- Proficient understanding of NYS Accounting practices, General Accounting Practices (GAP), and legislation related to the accounting practice like Sarbanes Oxley Act (federal Accounting Practices)
- Computer Savvy and able to use office equipment independently.
- Good at completing projects and tasks and able to use time management wisely.
- Ability to work and understand complex budgets and grants efficiently.
- Creating and drafting Financial reports that reflect the organizations status on a monthly basis.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of work experience in the field of accounting with verifiable work references.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Knowledge & Experience with Passport, Filling Char500.
Preferred: (CPA) Certified Public Accountant or Register (EA) Enroll Agent
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
