Job Summary
The Financial Planning Team's goal is to be an extension of our Member Offices' individual on-site teams and/or a reliable 3rd party consulting team to assist advisors with their financial planning needs. In this back-office role, you will develop expertise in the various aspects of Valmark's proprietary financial planning processes as well as general financial planning conversations. As a Financial Planner your primary role is to assist senior team members and/ or Member Office financial professionals across the country with the day-to-day workflow of financial planning cases and research.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Manage the financial planning queue by analyzing client facts, modeling cash flows, developing recommendations via Valmark’s insurance agency, broker-dealer, and RIA.
- Assist senior team members with case set up and annual revisions.
- Serve as an insurance/annuity carrier liaison for Valmark Member Offices to ensure accurate and complete information about the product(s) being recommended.
- Establish relationships with Valmark Member Offices to thoroughly understand advisor preferences and client needs.
- Assist in conducting industry research used to develop tools, resources, and marketing materials (e.g., presentations, white-papers, video, etc.).
- Develop a working (or expand your existing) knowledge of financial planning topics such as retirement planning, estate planning, and insurance.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2-4 years of industry experience
- CFP® Professional, or willingness to obtain
- FINRA Series 7, or willingness to obtain
- Ohio Life and Health Insurance License, or willingness to obtain
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Days and typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexibility in working hours may be allowed, but the employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. The position may require occasional local travel.
