The position of Loan Office (Financial Service Officer) is responsible for providing an exceptional member experience while assisting other branch staff and members. Use a sales-through-service attitude to demonstrate product knowledge and identify and meet the needs of our individual members. You are responsible for being an excellent steward of our members’ finances.
Additionally, this person will interview, recommend, and authorize approval of consumer credit loans. This position analyzes consumer loan requests based on the members story while adhering to lending policy and authority limits. The main focus is to help our members become financially secure.
What You'll Do:
Open and close personal and business accounts such as Money Market accounts, Certificates of Deposit, checking and savings accounts. Assist branch staff and members in resolving account-related issues.
Interview and review applications for consumer loan business. Explain loan programs and advise members of loan options and requirements.
Analyze members’ financial conditions to include credit history, credit score, collateral, and other financial information to assess the degree of risk and the members’ ability to repay the loan. Make decisions within loan approval authority or forward the loan request to higher levels for decision.
Complete or direct completion of all loan documents. Ensures documentation is complete and accurate. Complete required reports and records. Meet with members to explain terms and conditions and close the loan.
Stay informed of new types of loans, lending trends, and all other financial services and products to better meet members' needs. Ability to step into frontline role as needed.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of lending regulations. Remain in compliance and follow all BSA policy and procedures including the completion of annual BSA training.
Grow awareness with our membership and potential membership through community involvement. Attending and participating in meetings, committees, volunteer work or other community involvement events is required.
