Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical FP&A Analyst with a focus on job costing to join our finance team in the manufacturing sector. This role will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and job cost analysis to enhance operational efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate will collaborate with production, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Assist in the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
Perform variance analysis, comparing actual costs to budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and cost-saving opportunities.
Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
Support cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis.
Create dashboards and reports to visualize financial performance and cost trends.
Job Costing & Cost Analysis
Analyze direct and indirect costs, including labor, materials, and overhead in the manufacturing process.
Work closely with production teams to track and monitor job costs and ensure proper cost allocation.
Assist in job profitability analysis, identifying inefficiencies and recommending cost control measures.
Ensure standard costing methodologies are correctly applied and updated.
Monitor inventory valuation, material usage, and waste analysis to optimize cost efficiency.
Support cost roll-ups and BOM (Bill of Materials) analysis for accurate product costing.
Process Improvement & Compliance
Collaborate with accounting and operations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
Assist in internal and external audits by preparing cost-related financial documentation.
Support ERP system enhancements and automation efforts to improve financial reporting and job cost tracking.
Stay updated on manufacturing finance trends, cost management strategies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in job costing, or financial analysis within a manufacturing environment (internships included).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, VBA a plus) and financial software (SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, QuickBooks, or similar).
Knowledge of job costing principles, standard costing, and manufacturing cost accounting.
Experience with ERP systems and data visualization tools.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
