    Job Description

    As a Finish Development Engineering Co-op, you will connect with Product Engineers at the Therma-Tru Innovation Center to support the New Product Development process, taking products from ideation to commercialization. You will play a key role in developing products that drive our growth as the leading manufacturer of fiberglass and steel exterior door systems and the preferred entry door brand among U.S. building professionals. Your responsibilities will include material selection, analysis, and full design implementation, all of which require decision-making to ensure the best outcomes for our team and products.

    This role is part of our newly established Global Product Development Team’s Rotational Co-Op Program. You will have the opportunity to collaborate on selected projects that provide valuable experience in your field. Based on performance, you may be invited to return for up to four semesters, following a 1 on 1 off schedule with the GPD Team.

    The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in chemical engineering, materials engineering, or a related field at an accredited university. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required, along with being a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder and having strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based in Maumee, Ohio.

    What you will be doing

    • Design, implement, and interpret testing for material qualification
    • Experiment development and documentation based on company and industry standards
    • Data manipulation and collection during engineering trials
    • Implementing engineering and design changes
    • Documentation of engineering and material specifications
    • Product and component design
    • Assist engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve process/quality problems
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program focusing on chemical engineering, material engineering, or related field from an accredited university
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • US Citizen or Green Card Holder
    • Great verbal and written communication skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Prefer the student can work a minimum of 2 semesters/40 hours per week. Moen will accommodate up to 4 semesters
    • Knowledge of material properties for plastic, metal, and composite materials
    • Self-motivated problem solver who enjoys working in a “hands-on” environment
    • Self-directed and motivated for the completion of projects
    • Be able to schedule and complete projects from start to finish
