    Job Description

    Starting pay range $20.00 - $21.00/hour based on experience, plus $1.25/hour shift premium. We provide opportunity for pay and skill advancement through our operator level program, and a safety-first work environment.

    3rd shift hours are Su-Th 11:00pm to 7:30am.

    The primary responsibility of this position is to setup and operate multi-blade slitting machines to cut and wind large rolls of ink-coated polypropylene or polyester film into smaller rolls as determined by customer specification. Operators are also responsible for quality testing, material handling, data entry and packing duties.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Set up and operate slitters and inspection machines in finishing areas. This is from a power down situation to order completion.
    • Produce a high quality product that meets the customer’s specifications 100% of the time by using all of the tools available to you.
    • Utilize product specifications from the AS400 to setup/prepare production equipment for safe & efficient production.
    • Update or maintain proper written production, quality, and inventory documentation.
    • Enter production documentation in the AS400 system.
    • Follow documented instructions on testing procedures and processes vs. established standards.
    • Perform material handling duties, including moving inventory by pushing and pulling Big Joe lifts, driving Forklift and using hoist.
    • General housekeeping duties. By using 5S, you must maintain a neat and orderly work area and maintain all of your equipment up to established standards.
    • Ability to use tape measures, scales, hand tools,
    • Ability to operate material handling equipment including fork trucks, Big Joes and hoists.
    • Rotate and Cross train on different finishing machines, as needed.
    • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Prior manufacturing experience in applicable machine operation, material handling and/or packing preferred. ****
    • Basic computer skills including data entry and navigation of multiple screens.
    • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts,
    • Good communication skills including ability to follow verbal and written instructions, work effectively with minimal supervision, and work well with others.
    • Dependable, and ability to work overtime/flexible shift as business needs dictate.
    • Physical requirements include constant standing/walking, use of upper extremities to handle/manipulate, and ability to visually identify product quality defects; frequent twisting/turning, and lift/carry/reach with ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
