HOW WILL YOUR ROLE IMPACT FIRST COMMAND?
The System Administrator position is responsible for the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, operating systems, and related infrastructure. The position monitors system performance for all environments and maintains optimal systems availability. The position participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The position also assists project teams as required, and provides third-level support to the BIS Support Center on system issue resolution.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Helps to monitor and maintain systems hardware, operating systems, and related infrastructure to ensure reliable operation
- Assist with capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity for all servers and storage systems
- Produce and maintain documentation for in-use systems (HW, OS, etc)
- Work with the NetOps team to resolve issues including trouble shooting
- Coordinate with the NetOps team and business teams to ensure timely communication and resolution of all issues
- Required to be on-call and available for special duties outside normal working hours
WHAT SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU NEED?
EDUCATION
- Preferred: - Associates Degree in computer science or similar field
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: 2 - 5 years working in a Windows multi-domain environment supporting a minimum of 300 servers and 1800 employees
- Prefer experience with the following technologies: Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2012/2008, Active Directory, Microsoft System Center Suite, Microsoft Exchange 2016/2013, Microsoft Lync 2013, Microsoft Skype for Business, Windows 10/7, Commvault Enterprise Backup, VMware ESXi/vSphere, EMC VNX/Clarion Storage, Dell Compellent/Equallogic Storage, Hitachi Storage, and IBM iSeries.
