Operations Associate for Financial Services Firm
Job Description
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
First Hill Trust Company is a financial services firm located in in downtown Seattle with about $700 million in corporate retirement assets under management. More specifically, we are registered investment advisors, and we also offer discretionary trustee services, as well as recordkeeping and administration services for corporate retirement plans.
The Operations Associate will work in the company’s corporate retirement department which processes transactions for 401(k) plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Enter and update all employee benefits records/claims.
2. Perform data entry and account reconciliations.
3. Provide Customer Service to clients via phone and/or email.
4. Processes retirement contributions, salary deferrals, distributions, loans, post earnings and dividends.
5. Monthly and quarterly fee processing.
6. Retirement plan accounting.
7. Prepare and audit reports in accordance with established guidelines, timelines, etc.
8. Create complex and detailed reports on funds, trades, and other projects.
9. Edit and audit content for accuracy.
10. Assist Senior Operations Specialists with a variety of tasks as needed.
11. Special projects and other misc. duties as necessary and/or assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING:
1. Business, Accounting or Finance degree is preferred.
2. Previous relevant experience is a strong plus.
3. Previous customer service, clerical and/or administrative experience desirable, but not required.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Extremely high attention to detail.
2. Knowledge of employee benefits or 401k plans preferred.
3. Excellent phone etiquette required.
4. Professional interpersonal communication (verbal & written).
5. Ability to meet deadlines and work in time sensitive environment.
6. Proficient with numbers and accounting.
7. Self-motivated, self-directed work style.
8. Advanced Excel skills a plus.

More specifically, we are registered investment advisors, and we also offer discretionary trustee services, as well as recordkeeping and administration services for corporate retirement plans. For the better part of 40 years, we have operated as a third-party benefits administrator, called Benefit Administration Company. We also have two other subsidiary companies that we operate, BAC Capital Advisors (our financial advisor group) and EB Management (our union plan administrators). As of 2019, we officially chartered as a trust company under the name of First Hill Trust Company.
