Job Summary

The Fitness Instructor is responsible for designing and overseeing personalized group fitness classes for hotel, spa, and local guests. They guide participants through a variety of workouts, ranging from high-intensity sessions to relaxing yoga classes. The instructor monitors clients’ progress, motivates them to reach their fitness goals, and ensures proper form and safety throughout each training session. Additionally, they effectively communicate with clients while maintaining high standards of customer service.

A little bit about your day:

• Adhere to The Regent Hotel’s philosophy and Spa policy and procedures.
• Anticipate guest needs and uphold The Regents service standards for guest service, including FORBES 5 Diamond criteria.
• Interact cooperatively and professionally with guests and the hotel and spa team, demonstrating respect, sensitivity, and attentiveness, following all company guidelines.
• Responsible for developing group fitness classes for all ages and fitness levels.
• Maintain a complete knowledge of all group fitness class schedules and descriptions.
• Comply with and maintain safety, sanitation, and disinfection standards, properly clean and sanitize products, rooms, tools, and equipment, following State Governing Boards requirements and guidelines.
• Maintain fitness area cleanliness and ensure all equipment utilized for training sessions is in good operating order.
• Ensure fitness space and music levels are correctly set and maintained.
• Adhere to all departmental safety procedures and protocols.
• Communicate guest complaints or any maintenance issues to Spa Management.

What we need from you:

• Must hold a government recognized Fitness Instructor certification or similar level of education in a related field or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with the local fitness community and ability to attract and retain a dedicated student following.
• Skilled in using social media to promote classes, connect with students, and enhance community engagement.
• Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, exercise mechanics, and training principles.
• Must be polished, professional, and have a strong command of both written and verbal English.
• Current CPR/AED Certification.

What you can expect from us:

The hourly pay range for this role is $50.00 - $70.00. This rate is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A colleague’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
