Planning Vehicle life cycles
- Decide when to retire vehicles from the fleet and acquire new ones.
- Creating new vehicle acquisitions.
- Having a clear understanding of what units cost and current value of the fleet.
Tracking
- Motive GEO tabs and Installations
- Coordinating units to correct locations/drop offs
- Accurately installed, notifications and accurate supervisor oversight on units within specific projects.
- Research codes and check for disconnections
- Check for fuel consumptions and noticeable trends
Safety
- Reducing vehicle accidents reduces company liability and insurance premiums.
- Provide key training for vehicle safety and proper usage.
- Proper Decals ordered and provided for all units.
- Recalls and Repairs
Compliance
- Government regulations / state laws
- Driving patterns cross state lines, toll roads, etc.
- FMCSA, DOT, Understanding commercial vehicle legislature
- Inspections, License plate renewal, etc.
- DVIR, Post trip, Pre trip
Maintenance Schedule
- Know the equipment and the recommended cycles for maintenance
- Motive maintenance schedule
- Regular scheduled unit evaluations to identify small issues
- Temporary replacements need to be readily available
- Accurate maintenance logs and data from past repairs Fleet Director and VP will meet monthly to discuss trends, issues, upcoming news.
