Servpro of North/South Lexington is the largest, locally owned, commercial and residential property restoration company in the state, but we also have an extensive fleet of vehicles and equipment that must be maintained and repaired as needed. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality. An excellent auto mechanic has good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities
Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
Keep logs on work and issues
Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
Skills
Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a must
Proven experience as auto mechanic
Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
Excellent physical condition
High school diploma is preferred;
Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus

Environmental Conditions The employee frequently works in mostly indoor environments but exposed to outside weather conditions, also coming in contact with computers, mechanical parts, and slippery and uneven surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
Physical Conditions Essential and marginal functions may require physical fitness requirements necessary to perform the job functions with or without accommodation, such as the ability to stand, walk or sit for prolonged periods; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and use hands to operate and handle objects, tools, and machines. The ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects is also essential. Employee must have the ability to work with/around various chemicals and cleaning agents.

Position Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law
High school diploma/GED.
Possession of applicable licenses and automotive-related vocational training preferred
ASE Master certification preferred
Diagnostic experience required
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver any weight above 50 pounds with assistance on a regular basis.
Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations
