    SUMMARY The Floater (Teacher or Teacher Assistant) is responsible for assisting and supporting school readiness and monitoring developmental outcomes while providing responsive caregiving and developmentally appropriate and inclusive learning experiences for enrolled children, specifically infants and toddlers. The Floater (Teacher or Teacher Assistant) is also responsible for assisting in creating and supporting a positive, high-quality early learning environment and the overall educational emphasis of the classroom in alignment with the Head Start Early Learning Outcome Framework; Birth to Five, and the Texas PreK guidelines. The Floater (Teacher or Teacher Assistant) may be assigned to classrooms to ensure the classrooms are always in ratio.

    RESPONSIBILITIES ● Actively supervise and ensure the health, well-being, and safety of children. ● Implement age-appropriate lesson plans, routines, and curricula inclusively. ● Partner and effectively communicate with children, families, and staff to implement school readiness strategies. ● Ability to adhere to Center for Transforming Lives policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements (including, but not exclusively, Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers and Head Start Program Performance Standards). ● Demonstrate professionalism in decision-making and classroom leadership.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE ● Child Development Associate Credential (age-specific, or all level) ● Two years of experience preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills & be able to interact professionally with adults. • Have a working knowledge of human behavior and early childhood education. Ability to incorporate creativity within classroom learning experiences. • Computer proficiency required. Enjoy daily contact with children. • Must pass a pre-employment and/or periodic physical examination, TB skin test, and a complete background check every 24 months. • Ability to communicate a basic understanding of child development (age-appropriately).
