Job Title: Childcare Center Floater
Location: Discovery Point, Oakwood
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Shift: 9:30-6:30 open to a part time schedule of 12:00-6:30 pm

Position Overview:
The Childcare Center Closing Floater will provide support across different classrooms as needed, ensuring that children receive consistent care and attention during the operating hours of the center. This position requires a flexible, responsible individual who can step in and assist wherever needed, maintaining a calm and caring presence as the center prepares to close for the day. The floater will help with classroom transitions, assist with closing tasks, and ensure that children are safely and smoothly handed off to their parents or guardians.
Key Responsibilities:
Floater Support: Assist in different classrooms, providing additional support to teachers and staff as needed. Help supervise children, engage in activities, and ensure their safety.
Closing Procedures: Help with the closing process for the center, including cleaning, tidying up classrooms, and securing toys and materials.
Child Supervision: Ensure children are accounted for and properly supervised during transitions and as other classrooms close for the day.
Parent Communication: Greet parents or guardians as they arrive to pick up their children, ensuring a smooth and safe handoff.
Safety & Cleanliness: Follow safety protocols, ensuring that all children are supervised at all times. Assist with final cleaning and sanitizing tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for the next day.
Flexibility: Be adaptable to work in different classroom environments and respond to any immediate needs that arise at the end of the day.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to ensure the overall smooth operation of the center.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED** required; some college coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is a plus.
Must have a current CPR/First Aid certification (or be willing to obtain upon hire).
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, and maintain a consistent schedule.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with children, parents, and team members.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Must pass background check and meet state licensing requirements for childcare staff.
Positive, patient, and nurturing attitude toward children of all ages.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
